2024 Odzala Marathon de ZAGG
Kamba’s Odzala Marathon de ZAGG will take place in September 2024 to raise funds for African Parks for the continued protection of Odzala-Kokoua National Park. The spirit of the Odzala Marathon de ZAGG is to create a bucket-list endurance running event to bring together the various players in conservation organizations, the people of the Congo, and international visitors to raise awareness and funding for the conservation efforts by African Parks in the pristine Odzala-Kokoua National Park.
The event is scheduled for 14 September 2024 with the following distances: 42km, 21km, and 10km. Entries are limited to 50 pax.
The Odzala marathon starts at Lango Lodge at 05h30 in the morning. The route follows a dirt track towards Mboko Lodge, and then loops back to finish at Mbomo village. All running takes place within the boundaries of the Park to ensure minimum traffic, other than vehicles dedicated to safety and race support.

Participation Option 1: Odzala Sprint, 4 nights
Thursday, 12 Sept: Arrive in Brazzaville by 12h00 in the morning. Afternoon flight from Brazzaville to Mboko (1h40). Transfer to Lango Lodge and enjoy the afternoon exploring the area on a guided baï walk. Overnight 1 night at Lango Lodge.
13 – 15 Sept: Spend 3 nights at Mboko Lodge with river and walking activities. Enjoy a Pasta Party the night before the race. Odzala Marathon de ZAGG race participation on 14 Sept.
16 Sept: Scheduled flight from Mboko to Brazzaville. Connect with your international flight or see what there is to explore in Brazzaville.
Participation Option 2: Odzala Marathon, 7 nights
Monday, 09 Sept: Arrive in Brazzaville by 12h00 noon. Afternoon flight from Brazzaville to Mboko (approx 1h40 flight). Enjoy lunch on arrival to Mboko and transfer to Ngaga Lodge (approx 2hrs drive). The evening will feature a gorilla tracking brief around the fire.
09- 12 Sept: Spend 3 nights at Ngaga Lodge including 2 x gorilla tracks.
12 Sept: Transfer to Lango Lodge and enjoy the afternoon exploring the area on a guided baï walk. Overnight 1 night at Lango Lodge.
13 – 15 Sept: Spend 3 nights at Mboko Lodge with river and walking activities. Enjoy a Pasta Party the night before the race. Participate in the Odzala Marathon de ZAGG on 14 Sept.
16 Sept: Scheduled flight from Mboko to Brazzaville. Connect with your international flight or see what there is to explore in Brazzaville.
